peugeot-3008The Geneva Motor Show hosted many premieres last week; the Peugeot stand saw the company’s first hybrid, the 3008.

Less than two years from its launch, Peugeot says it is aimed at sport-loving couples, modern families, senior citizens and active young people who desire a type of car which does not fall into existing categories, such as hatchbacks and MPVs.

It introduces a range of new technologies such as grip control, dynamic roll control, a heads-up display, distance alert, and an automatic electric parking brake.

The company’s Hymotion 4 hybrid technology also helps the 3008 to low average emissions.

It will be offered with an efficient range of engine options, one of which produces only 130g/km of CO2.

Peugeot is also engaged in micro-hybridisation; second generation Stop&Start systems will be introduced across the range from 2011.
