Volkswagen is developing their own hybrid technology, and they’re starting with the Jetta. Performance Volkswagen is excited the Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid will be arriving in Nebraska in 2012.

Aiming to be at the top of its class, the Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid will sport a 1.4-liter four-cylinder twincharger engine. This engine could give the Jetta Hybrid up to 175 horsepower and 280 pound-foot torque, though exact numbers have not been released. This engine, combined with a lithium-ion battery pack, should help the Jetta Hybrid achieve over 45 miles-per-gallon.
